January 1986, Southern Sun Hotel Group. I started my Hotel Management career at Sunnyside Park Hotel, in Parktown. My first lesson in business: the guest never sees the systems, only the service, it set the standard in those early days. Forty years later I still judge a company by how well its systems work to free up its people up to serve. What was your first job — and what did it teach you?
